The
West Bloomfield Volunteer Fire Department is always
seeking new members to add to its ranks. If you have an interest
in serving
the community in this important role, we invite you to talk with
us about membership opportunities. To get started print out
and submit the application at the bottom of this page.
Although you'll receive no "pay" for this job, there
are many solid benefits to becoming a member. You'll gain valuable
knowledge
about fire prevention and control, see the results of teamwork, make
lasting friendships, and most importantly, get the satisfaction of
being able to save lives and property in your town.
We need people in all areas of the department-from interior firefighters
to traffic control personnel. Regardless of your physical condition
or ability, chances are we can find a role for you within our organization.
Interest is the most important requirement!
We know that your time is valuable, and although becoming a volunteer
firefighter does require some training (at no cost to you) we try
to manage training schedules to keep them as non-disruptive as possible.
Most training drills and meetings are held on Monday nights-usually
right at the firehouse.
As for emergency calls, members are expected to respond to the calls
for which they are available. While this usually only amounts to
two or three times per month, we understand that there are times
when you will not able to respond because of other obligations. The
response policy is handled as an "honor system."
If you
have an interest in joining our ranks, simply fill out the form and
drop it off at the firehouse on any Monday night. If you want
more
information?
Just stop by the firehouse, or contact:
Fire House: (585)
624-1414
Town Hall: (585) 624-2914
We look forward to hearing from you!
